Too much television

Knitting on my socks has been wonderful but now, after two months of obsessive knitting, I discovered that I also have watched way too much tv. I know all the designers on HGTV and all of Cesar Milan's pack by name. I have watched every movie at least once and some as many as three times.

I am so glad it is spring and I can go outside.

My tatting class only had two students but they were both very good. I was demonstrating how the shuttle and fingers manipulate the thread but wasn't showing them how the hand has to allow the thread to slide through over and under the shuttle. I am so glad they pointed this out to me, hopefully now it will be easier for me to teach and others to learn.

My neighor and I are moving in approximately three weeks. We will once again have apartments in the same building only in a different complex. It is really exciting, the complex has lots of large old trees, a lap-size pool and laundry facilities in the apartments--no more laundry room! Life is good.

Pictures forthcoming.

Socks

I have become obsessed with knitting socks. It all started when a friend asked for help with the pair she was knitting in the second week of January. I went home, dug out some yarn I had ordered and started a pair that night. Since then, I have knitted five pairs. This is a lot of heavy duty knitting. I will post pictures later in the week as I need new batteries for my camera. I have enough yarn for two more pair before I have to go shopping.

I also knitted a cardigan sweater. It is a Coats and Clark pattern called "Country Swing, City Swing" and was featured in the April 2009 issue of Knit 'n Style. I used Cascade 220 Chocolate Tweed and am really pleased with it.

I read "A Dangerous Lady" by Jane Stanton Hitchcock and really liked it. It is a murder mystery but has several unexpected twists and turns. Also read "Past Perfect" by Susan Isaacs and thought it was wonderful too.

Obviously, it's been a long, cold winter here!
